Reset Your iPhone to Factory Settings

Let’s discuss each solution in detail to fix your new or used iPhone 13 screen flickering issue.

Fix 1. Force Restart Your iPhone 13

If you experience a screen flickering issue on your iPhone 13, 13 Pro, or 13 Pro Max, force restarting your device can resolve the issue. A force restart can clear any software glitches causing the screen to flicker. Here’s how to force restart your iPhone 13:

Press and release the volume up button.

Press and release the volume down button.

Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Once you see the logo, release the side button, and wait for your iPhone to restart.

Fix 2. Adjust iPhone Display Brightness

The screen flickering issue on your iPhone 13 may be due to the brightness level being too high. To fix this, adjust the brightness level of your refurbished iPhone 13, 13 Pro, or 13 Pro Max. Changing the brightness level can reduce the strain on your eyes and prevent screen flickering issues. Here’s how:

Go to Settings.

Once in the Settings app, open the Display & Brightness option to access the display settings.

In the Display & Brightness settings, you will see a slider to adjust the brightness level of your iPhone’s screen. To reduce the brightness level, slide the bar to the left until the screen becomes comfortable.

You can also enable the Auto-Brightness feature to adjust the brightness level of your iPhone screen automatically based on the surrounding light conditions.

Fix 3. Free Up iPhone Storage Space

A lack of storage on your iPhone 13 can cause an issue with the screen’s flickering. To fix this, you must free up space on your device. Here’s how to free up storage on your preowned iPhone 13, 13 Pro, or 13 Pro Max:

Go to Settings.

Tap on General.

Tap on iPhone Storage.

Check the list of apps and delete any that you don’t need.

Fix 4. Remove Background Apps

Too many apps running in the background can also cause the flickering screen issue on your iPhone 13. To fix this, remove any background apps. Here’s how:

Swipe up from the screen’s bottom and hold.
Swipe right or left to find the app you want to close.
Swipe up on the app’s preview to close it.

Fix 5. Reset All Your iPhone Settings

Resetting all your iPhone settings can fix the screen flickering issue. However, resetting all settings on your iPhone will erase any custom settings and configurations you have made, such as Wi-Fi networks and passwords, display settings, and keyboard preferences. Here’s how to reset all your iPhone settings:

Go to Settings.

Tap on General.

Scroll down and tap on Reset.

Tap on Reset All Settings.

You will get a prompt to enter your passcode or Face ID to confirm the action.

After entering your passcode or Face ID, tap Reset All Settings again to confirm. Your iPhone will restart, and all your settings will be reset to their default values.

Fix 6. Reset Your iPhone to Factory Settings

If none of the above solutions work, it’s time to reset your iPhone to factory settings. Before you do this, make sure to back up your important data. Here’s how to reset your iPhone to factory settings:

Go to Settings.

Tap on General.

Scroll down and tap Reset.

Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

Why Does My iPhone 13 Screen Keep Flickering?

If you’re experiencing a flickering screen issue on your iPhone 13, it can be caused by several factors. Understanding the underlying cause can help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem effectively. Here are some common reasons for iPhone 13 screen flickering:

Presence of Malware or Virus

One of the leading causes of the screen flickering issue on your iPhone 13 can be malware or a virus. Malware can cause several issues on your device, including slowing it down, frequent crashes, and screen flickering. This is usually the result of downloading apps or files from untrusted sources. Malware can corrupt your device’s system files, leading to performance issues such as screen flickering.

If you suspect your iPhone 13 has been infected by malware, you can install a reputable antivirus app and perform a full scan of your device. This will help detect and remove any malicious programs causing the issue. Additionally, it’s essential to avoid downloading apps or files from untrusted sources and to keep your device’s software updated.

Faulty Third-Party Applications

Third-party apps can also cause screen flickering on your iPhone 13. These apps can be poorly coded, incompatible, or not updated, leading to performance issues like screen flickering. Some apps may also interfere with your device’s display settings, causing problems with the screen.

To determine if a third-party app is causing the issue, you can start by uninstalling any recently installed apps. You can also force quit apps running in the background to see if this resolves the issue. If the problem persists, identify and remove the app causing the issue.

Unstable iOS Update

An unstable iOS update can also cause screen flickering on your iPhone 13. Updates may have bugs or compatibility issues that can cause various performance issues, including screen flickering. If you have recently updated your device’s software and started experiencing screen flickering, the update may be the underlying cause.

To resolve this issue, try reverting the iOS update to the previous version, which may be more stable. Alternatively, you can wait for a software patch to be released to fix the issue.
